Have Fun Personalizing Your Work Environment! |
By Petra Boham, PetrArt Do you feel tired at your computer? Do you ever get to the point that you are sick at looking at your work area? Are the piles driving you crazy? Are you sometimes overwhelmed by them continuously stacking up, up, up? I have some solutions for you to alleviate some of the stress and add some personal touches that will hopefully liven up your environment and make it more YOU. Since we can personalize our desks (unlike being in an office that doesn't allow you to put your personality into your "work station"), I have some great ideas for you to get started incorporating YOU into your business and not only will you be more productive, but more motivated and it will be FUN! To start off, what do you really, really enjoy doing? Do you like to read? Do you have a favorite author? Find some pictures of him/her, cut them up, and create a collage, you can even add words or other images and display them around your work area - maybe in a frame on your desk or hang them on the wall by your computer. You can just tape or glue the pictures to a piece of paper and even tape it to the wall with scotch tape! It's that easy. Or maybe you enjoy music. Take some pictures from Rolling Stone or Musician magazine and make a collage. Are you health conscious? Love taking walks? Maybe you have some photographs that you have taken, and you can incorporate this in with your piece. It's o.k. to cut the photos. It took me quite a while to get over "ruining" them by cutting them. Another idea is to think about your goals, both personally and professionally. Make a "wish list" of items or events that you want. I made one where I "made" my dream home by cutting out pictures of parts of rooms I just loved from Architectural Digest and ended up creating a whole house!! Please don't think that your ideas, goals, dreams, and aspirations are too small or ridiculous to play with - it's important to you and that is what matters. If you have any questions, or are stuck and don't know how to implement your thoughts, please don't hesitate to call Petra @ PetrArt. My number is 602-267-9251, or e-mail me: info@petrart.com. |
